First proper update!

So, whats been going on in the Pit of late?

Well, I finally got around to importing the 'Friday the 13th' box set from the US. Films 1-8 with actual extra features, unlike the ever so slightly shite British version which lists the features but does not actually have them in the set! And its pretty good fun. A handfull of commentary tracks (i'm loving Tom Mclaughlins for Part VI), extended gore footage (self contained alas. Would have been nice to have it re-inserted into the films~), interviews, etc.

I have also imported Part 3 on its own just so I can watch it in 3-D! And I have to report that the 3-D effect is average at best. The image convergance is slightly off for extreme foreground pictures with the freebie glasses and on standard TV settings, but I am working on getting a better effect through some tinkering (seen some nice proper plastic lens glasses for sale in Manchester, so I might try them).

Welcome to the new look Pit of Doom.

As you can see from the welcome message above, the Pit has had some problems of late, meaning thet most of my archive interviews and reviews have been lost for the time being (don't worry, Fiends, I am working on retrieving them as we speak).

So, we have a new look. Yes, it's a blog, but I have a number of exciting things planned for the domain over the coming months. Stay tuned and all will be revealed...
